Meghan D. Meehan, a junior at Colgate University, is among 15 students spending the spring semester in Geneva, Switzerland, with Anne Pitcher, professor of political science.

Colgate’s Geneva Study Group allows a small group of students to study international relations, European diplomacy, and politics through classes at the University of Geneva and take trips to various international organizations, including agencies of the United Nations.

Meehan, who is studying international relations, is the daughter of Diane M. Meehan of Vail.

Have fun, Meghan, and don’t forget your Vail friends when you’re bringing back chocolate!

If you can’t wait to find out the winners of the Town of Vail’s drawing for trash container rebates, tune into Plum TV channel 16 this Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Mayor Rod Slifer will be on hand to draw the names of the 10 winners, each of whom will receive a $150 rebate from the town to help cover the cost of their new bear-resistant trash can. And, don’t forget. If you live in Vail and you have curbside trash pickup, you’re now required to have a bear-resistant trash container to help protect our area wildlife. For details, call 479-2201 and ask for a Vail police officer or code enforcement officer.
