Brilliance in our midstSeveral colleges have sent word of local students doing grand things. n Whitney Simmonds, of Edwards, was one of 467 students who graduated from Colby College in Waterville, Maine, on May 27. Simmonds majored in music.n Christopher Buehler, of Avon, was one of the spring graduates from the University of Wyoming in Laramie.n Charles Martin, of Edwards, earned a spot on the Deans List at West Texas A&M University. Martin is a senior majoring in mass communications.n Ellis Hunter, of Avon, earned a spot on the schools Deans List for the spring semester at Bentley College in Waltham, Mass. Hunter is a senior majoring in information design and corporate communications.Congratulations!Women with hammersThe local chapter of Habitat for Humanity is holding a women build session July 16 through 20.According to the news release, Women Build is not about excluding men, it is about including women. Join us as we build a home in partnership with a local family in need.No construction experience is necessary, the release states, but a positive attitude is required.
