Minturn Community Fund presents annual Live! In Minturn Halloween PartyThe Minturn Community Fund will hold its annual Halloween fundraiser on Tuesday at the Minturn Saloon. This costume dance party is always a great gathering of local residents. The party begins at 9 p.m. with M.T.H.D.S. A donation of $10 is requested at the door with all proceeds benefiting the Minturn Community Fund. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes.M.T.H.D.S. is a local band that has already made their mark on the Colorado music scene. KCUV radio in Denver has named it the Best new band in Colorado. The music brings funk, hip hop and rock into an exciting package. Be ready to dance!The Minturn Community Fund is a nonprofit organization focused on connecting people who care with events and causes which enrich the quality of life in the Minturn area. Shes worked at Overland & Express Travel for many years. Maybe you know her from the Snowshoe Shuffle or the Danskin triathlon races to raise money for breast cancer research. Maybe you know Laura from the volleyball, soccer or softball games she attended to watch her children Paige, Matt and Morgan play.Now Laura needs our help. She has recently been diagnosed with stage four cancer. With all of the medical bills she and her husband Paul are running up, they need the help of their many friends. Theres a fund-raising dinner, dance and auction for the Genelins tonight from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Eagle River Center at the Eagle County Fairgrounds. The evenings entertainment will include food and drinks, live music, kids activities and a live auction for fabulous items including a pair of World Series Tickets for Sunday nights game. There will also be a big-screen TV set up so no one misses Saturday nights win by the Rockies.Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and younger.For more information, call 376-3756.October AwardsCongratulations to the St. Clare students who won the monthly awards for October. The awards are: Self-Discipline following directions, Honest Abe, Peacemaker and Most Motivated. The awards were presented the last Wednesday mass of the month. Way to go St. Clare students! Keep up the good work next month our Self Discipline skill will be understanding the reasons for rules.
