We are pleased to announce that Keegan Hammond, 2008 Eagle Valley High School and Colorado Mountain College graduate, will be receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in metallurgical and material science engineering from Colorado School of Mines in May. Keegan has earned the honorable Hazen Research Outstanding Senior Award, which is given to the graduating senior with the highest grade-point average in her major. This honor is also accompanied by a cash gift sponsored by Hazen Research of Golden. Additionally, she has just received her official acceptance into the prestigious graduate school at Colorado School of Mines for the Master of Science program in the metallurgical and materials engineering department starting in the fall. Keegan’s admission will be accompanied by a full scholarship with funding from the Kroll Institute for Extractive Metallurgy. The funding will include all tuition, fees, health insurance and a stipend salary. Congratulations to Keegan and her continued hard work. The next time you see her, or any other soon-to-be-graduate, remind them that “the tassel is always worth the hassle.”
We are going to rock the Gypsum Recreation Center on Friday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Join us for a fun, energetic yoga social, guaranteed to kick off your weekend in style. Yoga FAC is for all levels. Grace Potter and the Nocturnals will play a free concert tonight at Ford Park as part of the Spring Back to Vail festivities. The venue will open at 7 p.m. and the music will start at 8 p.m. There is no opener for this show, so be sure to get to Ford Park before 8 p.m.!
