Join Colorado Mountain College in Edwards as we welcome one of our two new instructional chairs, Rachel Pokrandt! Rachel will supervise English/developmental studies, humanities, social sciences, studio and performing arts, sustainability studies, communication and foreign languages, and education. Rachel comes to CMC Edwards from Front Range Community College, in Fort Collins, where she held the position of dean of instruction. Rachel has also worked in the nonprofit sector, managing sustainability education programs, developing curriculum and providing educator training for major Fortune 500 companies. Rachel holds bachelor's degrees in theatre and education, and a master’s degree in business administration. She has more than 10 years of experience teaching in the K-12 and higher education setting.

What’s as American as pie? Community gardens – of course! So come out and support the Eagle-Vail Community Garden on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Minturn Farmers Market at our bake sale fundraiser. Pick up a delicous pie for your summer weekend. Coconut, chocolate Kahlua, key lime – oh my! We are accepting donations of baked goods today. On Thursday at Agave, come and experience the Vail Valley Theatre Company’s “Heroes and Villains” cabaret, a fun romp through the world of musical theatre through the eyes of the heroes and villains that bring it to life. Musical direction by Bob Finnie. Doors open and dinner starts at 6 p.m., and the show starts at 7 p.m. Only 100 tickets will be sold, so be sure to buy yours ahead of time, or you may miss out!
