Just drive to Eagle and listen for the sound of kids laughing.Running shoes wantedAre you gardening, grocery shopping, or walking the dog in your old running shoes? Do you have a closet full of perfectly good workout shoes and hiking boots that you just don’t know what to do with? Bring them on down to Pedal Power in Eagle-Vail by Aug. 8 so they can be shipped off, along with winter jackets, to people who could really use a good pair of shoes.Bring all shapes and sizes. If they smell like something died in them recently, please give them a bath. They’ll be shipping these shoes along with Cheryl Jensen’s SWAG program (Ski Resort Winter Clothing) to Iran and Romania. Peach orders may be picked up between 4-6 p.m. on Aug. 19 at Brush Creek Elementary School in Eagle.Learn to ham it upThe Beaver Creek Children’s Theatre Company begins their final children’s theater workshop of the summer, on Monday, Aug. 11 at Beaver Creek. The workshops for children ages 5 through 12, and go from 9 a.m. to noon. The workshops are presented by the Beaver Creek Children’s Theatre Company, who have been performing and teaching at Beaver Creek for 17 years.This year this workshop is part of the Beaver Creek Theatre Festival with all students participating in a free performance for the public as part of the festival.
