Come celebrate long-time local, 10th Mountain Division Veteran and Hall of Fame member Sandy Treat's 88th birthday! Treat volunteers at The Colorado Ski & Snowboard Museum each Friday and hosts fireside chats where he speaks about his Camp Hale and 10th Mountain experiences. Stop by the museum Friday at 2 p.m. wish Sandy a happy 88th and have a piece of cake.

Way to go, SSCV devo freestyle team. All these athletes were on the podium in almost every event at Steamboat last Sunday. What a great showing by all! Watch out, Olympic committee.

The Battle Mountain High School dance team is holding its Junior Dance Camp. Practice is Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the BMHS gym. A performance is Jan. 28 at halftime of the varsity basketball game. Cost is $90, or enroll with a friend for $80 each. Scholarships are available. Included are eight hours of dance instruction, one lunch, one dinner, snacks, fun with the BMHS Husky dance team, a dance camp T-shirt and two tickets to the basketball game. Junior Dance Camp participants will be divided into three different age groups. Each group will learn one dance routine to be performed at the game Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. To register or for more information, contact Rita Mueller at or 970-376-2640. All proceeds go toward defraying the costs of having sent the BMHS dance team to the Orange Bowl in Miami to perform in the halftime show! What a great experience it was!
