Town Talk for Jan. 23

Vail CO Colorado
Women who feel they're not skiing as well as they could will want to take in a presentation Tuesday, Jan. 25 by women's skiing guru Jeannie Thoren, owner of Jeannie Thoren's Women's Ski Center in Lionshead Square. The presentation, "Women Are Not Small Men," explains how anatomical differences between men and women affect the mechanics of skiing, and demonstrates how binding position, heel lifts, cants and other simple fixes can make a world of difference for female skiers ... and make skiing a whole lot more fun. The presentation will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at JP's Old Forge Pizza in Lionshead Square, and will include a complimentary pizza, wine and cheese party. Both women and men are welcome, but seating is limited, so reservations are required. Phone 970-476-5232 to reserve your place. Jeannie will also be showing off her new, limited edition Edelweiss skis (see photo). These custom-made skis feature a solid hardwood core, gorgeous inlaid wood graphics, layers of fiberglass and carbon fiber, and high-carbon steel edges. And the ride is as beautiful as they look.
