We’ve all been there … don’t be the cause! Learn to create effective presentations in a fun, interactive class at Colorado Mountain College in Edwards. Class will cover how to change backgrounds; animate transitions; handle charts, clip art, music and narrative; and even use video clips. Your presentations will shine, and you will never bore again! Class is from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday and costs just $39.

The Avon Public Library will offer a free film screening of the documentary “American Teacher” at 6 p.m. on Thursday. Weaving interviews of education-policy experts with the lives of four teachers, “American Teacher” tells the collective story by and about those closest to the issues in our educational system – the 3.2 million teachers who spend every day in classrooms across the country. The film is narrated by Matt Damon. The event is free and open to the public.
