Porchlight Players’ Summer Children’s Theater will present its free summer production of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast Jr.” on July 1 at 6:30 p.m. at the Lundgren Amphitheater in Gypsum. The kids will sing and dance their way into your hearts, as they tell the timeless tale of looking beyond the surface to find the good in everyone. The Eagle-Vail Community Garden Committee is hosting a bake sale Saturday at the new garden site (99 Eagle Drive in Eagle-Vail) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and we’re calling all bakers to fire up the oven and donate some tasty treats. Anyone who would like to donate baked goods should sign up with Jean at 970-949-1895. We’re aiming for a variety, from simple chocolate-chip cookies to quick breads and fruit pies to elaborate cakes and cookies. Baked goods need to be ready for drop-off or pickup this evening or early Saturday morning. Please coordinate soon with Jean at 970-949-1895. The funds raised in the coming months will allow us to begin building and growing the Eagle-Vail Community Garden this summer.
