Town Talk for Nov. 2, 2002

In this week’s educational literature, Sports Illustrated, we learn the following:

n Some San Francisco Giant superfan, a woman – although in San Francisco it’s sometimes hard to tell – sought to be artificially inseminated. She offered to trade World Series tickets for healthy sperm.

n It’s some guy’s job to wax the leg of Russian tennis star Anna Kournikova. Actually, it’s a wax likeness in Moscow’s XL Gallery of Contemporary Art.

Recycle the rummage sale site

Volunteers are needed to help with repairs and recycling at the site of the annual Eagle Valley Community Fund rummage sale on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. FREE LUNCH! Dress warmly and bring work gloves. You’ll be doing a good turn by helping out on an Eagle Scout project. Call Mike 476 6243.

Krispy Kreme equals enlightenment

Julie Imada-Howard used to take care of the Dali Lama, and now knows that the path to true enlightenment runs through the doughnut shop. And that’s why she’s taking orders for Krispy Kreme doughnuts for the Family Learning Center. Your doughnuts will be available after 7:30 a.m., Nov. 7, at the Family Learning Center in Edwards. You also can pick up orders at the Vail Daily’s printing plant in Gypsum, that is if you can beat the press crew to them. They’re $7 a dozen. Send orders and payments to: The Family Learning Center P.O. Box 2809 Edwards, CO 81632 before Monday, Nov. 4. Call Julie at the Eagle Valley Enterprise, 328-6656 and order about 27 dozen.
