Town Talk for Oct. 24

Vail, CO Colorado
The Household Battery Recycle Challenge at the Red Sandstone Elementary School is back in November! Starting on Oct. 31 and continuing until Nov. 18, the students at the Red Sandstone school will be collecting household batteries in an effort to educate the student body on the need to recycle batteries responsibly. The classroom that collects the most batteries, by weight, will win a Pazzo's Pizza party. In May, the students collected more than 560 pounds of batteries. Thanks to the sponsors who made the event possible — All Mountain Technologies, www.theparentshandbook.com, West Vail Ace Hardware, Eagle County Solid Waste & Recycling and Pazzo's Pizzeria. In the photo, Chris Alexander from All Mountain Technologies assists students with the battery weigh-in during the May event.
