Welcome home, Denny and Mary Hoeger, celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary today. Denny worked for the Vail Ski School in the late ’60s and was President Ford’s ski instructor, and he was also an avid pilot. Mary – ah, the venerable, lovely Mary – was known as “Fairway Mary” for her work on the Vail golf course and known as “Hey Sweetie” for her work at Donovan’s Copper Bar. Mary Glen hailed from Wyoming and had a fear of “red coats” and the good sense to marry a ski instructor. Denny and Mary have two sons, Taig and Corey (now quite grown and married), and have been living the good life in Bozeman, Mont. Mary was wed in a gown fashioned by Dianna Donovan and footwear by Minnetonka. If you see them around, wish them “Happy 40th.” Bob and Patty Dorf will be spending time with them this weekend and reliving the good old days (at least what we can remember of them!).
