Jim and Lynn Chapin’s family planned and executed their 50th wedding anniversary celebration at the Colorado Divide Hut over Labor Day along with 75 of their friends. Benefiting Kathie McNeill’s recovery after suffering a brain aneurysm, the gala will be held Saturday from 6 p.m. to midnight. $29 at the door includes passed hors d’oevres, food stations and dancing to Kathie’s favorite tunes. A silent auction and hourly raffles will be held.

The Battle Mountain High School cheerleaders will be holding a car wash at e-town on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stop by to have your car washed while you catch a little college football at the restaurant.
