A treat for Camp Hale

We have just learned that 10th Mountain Ski Trooper, Sandy Treat, now 93 years old, will speak during the Living History event at Camp Hale, Saturday, Jan. 21 at 10 a.m. He also plans to attend the reception at the Vail Ski Museum from 5 to 7 p.m., a public event to support National Historic Landscape designation for Camp Hale. Treat loves to talk about his days at Camp Hale and will be available for photos. Kids and their parents can put on 10th Mountain Army gear and have their photo taken with a living hero of World War II! Sandy Treat will be available at the 10th Mountain tent at the main entrance to Camp Hale from 10 to 11:30 a.m. this Saturday. The public is invited to come to the living history exhibit, learn about the history of the camp and the exciting future for it as the first ever designated National Historic Landscape. Bring cross country ski or snowshoes, lunch, and explore the camp after the living history presentation. Hot cocoa and coffee will be served.
