Art at the library

Patricia Donovan’s painting, An Evening at Terra Bistro, is now hanging above the fireplace at the Vail Public Library. Donovan grew up in a family of painters and musicians, but began to take her passion for creating art seriously after she developed an elementary school for the arts within the Littleton Public Schools. Studying first at the Denver Art Museum and later at the Denver Art Students’ League, she found her way to figurative painting. In her piece at Vail Public Library, you will find the influences of Ron Hicks and Kim English, her teachers, who demonstrate movement, light and drama in their paintings. Four young women sit at a table, while the fifth young woman, with her back to the viewer, reveals something remarkable.
