College baseball players from across the country will converge on six Colorado communities this month for the inaugural season of the Mountain West Summer Collegiate Wood Bat Baseball League. Communities hosting teams in the new league include Vail, Eagle Valley, Steamboat Springs, Grand Junction, Glenwood Springs and Summit County. The teams will be made up of players who are either currently playing at the college level or will be reporting to a college level team in the fall. The season will run for six weeks during the course of the summer. Teams will play three doubleheaders each week, generally on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with season opening games Tuesday. Many of the players on each team will need host families with which to stay over the course of the season. We are hoping families that love amateur sports and athletes will step up to the plate to host player(s) and support this league. Families interested in hosting a player for the summer, or for additional information, may contact Beth Dickson, director of housing, at 303-565-0354 or firstname.lastname@example.org. For questions about the league, contact Joseph LeFebre at 602-332-7156.
