Ginny Mancini, second from right, was honored at the Neighborhood Music School Centennial Gala with the school's inaugural Mancini Award. Presented to her by composer-conductor John Williams, second from left, the award was named in memory of Mrs. Mancini's husband, Henry Mancini, and is given to individuals whose professional and civic endeavors advocate and promote music education opportunities for low-income children. They are joined by Megan Ferkel Earhart, left, gala chair, and Jeff De Francisco, NMS board president. Comic Cheech Marin emceed the event, during which Grammy-nominated jazz saxophonist Dave Koz, pianist and Grammy-nominated arranger Shelly Berg, singer Monica Mancini and NMS students and teachers provided the entertainment.
