This is Emmyâs story. When Emmy was approximately 5 months old, doctors found a large mass in her abdomen, which they soon diagnosed as embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma. Emmy immediately began chemotherapy treatments and within the first year of her young life, she endured 42 weeks of chemo and had two surgeries. Unfortunately, these initial treatments did not get all the cancer and final scans showed a residual tumor. The only option for Emmy and her family was to pursue more aggressive, and expensive, treatments. Join the Vail Valley Charitable Fund and Vendetta's for a fundraiser on Wednesday, Nov. 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. to support the Welle family. Suggested donation of $25 for entry. Includes pizza, assorted appetizers and silent auction. Can't make it and still want to help? Visit: www.cogives.org/emmysfriends.
