Pictured here are the founding members of the new Canine Companions for Independence Vail Valley Chapter with assistance dog-in-training “Roxie.” Founded in 1975, the mission of Canine Companions for Independence is to provide high-quality assistance dogs, free of charge, for adults, children and veterans with disabilities to live lives of increased independence. The Vail Valley Chapter aims to promote these efforts for the benefit of our community and beyond. We will be hosting a Dogfest Walk and Roll at Freedom Park on Saturday, July 11. All are welcome to participate with their pet canine companions.
