Harpist Margot Krimmel will play a harp concert at Vail Public Library at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 16. Krimmel stretches the boundaries of her instrument, performing everything from Celtic folk music to originals to pop. Wednesdayâs concert at the Vail Public Library will feature pieces from her forthcoming solo CD. Krimmel loves collaborating with artists, choirs and dancers. This concert will include different types of harps and styles. Local musician Ken Carpenter will join Krimmel on cello and percussion for a few tunes. Krimmel began her professional harp career in the mid-1980s, entertaining guests at Vailâs Sonennalp Resort six nights a week. She moved to Boulder a few years later and has since established herself as a successful teacher, composer and recording artist. A first-place winner of the Pop and Jazz Harpfest, Krimmelâs many published harp arrangements include pop songs and movie themes.
