Hunger Relief

On April 7, City Market manager Dave Betts presented a check for $400 to Louise Carter, Food Ministries operations manager at the church. The money was part of the 2014 Hunger Relief campaign. Through the year, City Market shoppers contributed their change in the glass containers at the checkout counters. Now you know where all those coins were going. Monetary donations are used to purchase food gift cards, nonperishable foods and some of the distribution supplies needed by the food pantry. Over 300 families from Eagle and Gypsum receive supplemental food support on a regular basis. If you know of any family in need, please send them either to the Vail Valley Salvation Army at 322 East Beaver Creek Blvd. in Edwards or the Eagle Valley Community Food Pantry at 333 Second Street in Eagle.
