Library Art

The Vail Public Library has a new art piece hanging above its fireplace that will be displayed for the month of September. Artist Karen Kalfas placed her work of art over the fireplace in the library on Thursday. She is originally from the Chicago area and moved to Eagle in 2003. She worked as an interior designer with Patty Dixon of Morningstar Design and Scott Turnipseed of Scott Turnipseed Architecture for several years before retiring and pouring herself into art. She helped to start the Vail Valley Art Guild, and is still a member even though she now lives in Denver. Please visit for more information or stop by and see the art above the fireplace.
