Sculpture return to vail

Michael Anderson’s “Blue Bird of Paradise” has a new title, patina and location. With the direction of the artist, the pink and blue paint was sandblasted from sculpture while it was in storage during the construction of the Lionshead Welcome Center since 2011. The sculpture was recently relocated near the entry to the Lionshead parking structure off of South Frontage Road. Art in Public Places thanks the town of Vail’s public works team who helped refurbish and relocate “Bird of Paradise.” For more information about Art in Public Places, visit
