Telemark Sprint Classic

Telemark skiers will have a chance to test their skills this weekend during the Annual Vail Mountain School Telemark Sprint Classic, which will be held on the Golden Peak race course on Saturday. The event is hosted by the Vail Mountain School telemark team and this exciting family-friendly event is open to the public. All ages are welcome. Competitors will take two runs down a giant slalom course with unique telemark race features including an uphill climb around a reipelokke, a 360-degree-banked turn or wrap, a jump, and a skating finish. Entry is $40 per person and includes a BBQ at Race City after the last run. Registration takes place upstairs at Golden Peak's Race City from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. the day of the race. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in the following categories: women 14 and under; men 14 and under; women 15 to 18; men 15 to 18; women citizen 19 and up; men citizen 19 and up; women elite; men elite.
