Please help us help Ted Swetlik and Gia Benoit. On June 15, Ted was in a catastrophic bicycling accident and sustained a severe spinal cord injury. He was taken to Vail Valley Medical Center, airlifted to Denver Health Medical Center and eventually was transferred to Craig Hospital for extensive rehabilitation. Ted currently has no movement from the shoulders down and is breathing with the help of a ventilator. If you know Teddy, then you know his spirit and infectious laugh. Even through their struggle, that laugh, his sense of humor and his genuine kindness remain evident. Ted and Giaâs journey has just begun. With the help of our community and the Vail Valley Charitable Fund, we would like to show our support and help get them back up here, in their home, where they belong. The Board of Directors of the Vail Valley Charitable Fund has approved an extended grant to help with the expenses resulting from his extended hospital stay and future lifelong expenses. There will be a fundraiser on Thursday at the Eagle Vail Pavilion from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Please bring a side dish to share if you can. We ask that you bring the dish around 5 p.m. in a plastic container or tray before event starts at 5:30 p.m.
