Vail Tree Lighting Ceremony |

Vail Tree Lighting Ceremony

Join us Sunday, Dec. 21, at 5 p.m. for Vail's Tree Lighting Ceremony presented by Alpine Bank. This annual event includes a a short holiday stage program, with live a cappella entertainment from the Fabulous Femmes and the Vail Performing Arts Academy, appearances by the mayor of Vail, special guests and of course the lighting of Vail’s holiday tree by the Covered Bridge in Vail Village. New this year, the tree lighting will be followed by the integration of a community-wide public art project which will take place with the illumination of handmade paper lanterns at the tree lighting followed by a family lantern walk up Bridge Street to Mountain Plaza. LED batteries will be provided courtesy of Art in Public Places and Doe Browning. Visit for more information about the paper lantern making workshop Thursday, Dec. 18, and the afternoon of Sunday, Dec. 21.
