Way to go, Arthur

Dartmouth College has presented Arthur M. Kelton Jr., Class of 1961, with the Dartmouth Alumni Award in recognition of his long-standing service to the college and his community. Kelton, a real-estate developer in Vail and Boulder, was honored at a gala dinner in Hanover, New Hampshire, Oct. 27. Kelton’s volunteer work for Dartmouth has included service as President and Head Fundraising Agent for his class, Board of Overseers for Dartmouth College Hanover Inn properties, the Real Estate Committee for Dartmouth College, and Dartmouth Alumni Council. An avid skier, Kelton worked with Steve Waterhouse, Class of 1965, to create a film and book, both titled “Passion for Skiing,” exploring the 100-year history of the sport at Dartmouth. The book and movie were recognized by the International Ski History Association as outstanding contributions to skiing history. Kelton has been deeply involved with the Dartmouth Club of the Vail Region, which he has served as president for the last seven years. In this role, Kelton, together with Waterhouse, spearheaded a weekend celebration called CarniVail, held annually during the last weekend in February, which “combines the intellectual with the athletic.”
