What they talked about: A significant amount of water has leaked from faulty service lines. The town has lost money because it produces water for which it does not charge. To help fix the problem, town attorneys must rewrite “Chapter 13” of the town’s water code.

What’s next? Council will discuss the matter further at its June 6 meeting.
What they talked about: Town councilors approved an ordinance to rezone a parcel of U.S. Forest Service land, known as the “Boneyard,” in south Minturn. The ordinance will rezone what is now a federally regulated property.
What they said: Minturn wants to buy the property and it will be rezoned for open space and recreation.
What’s next? The town is waiting for the U.S. Forest Service to determine the parcel’s price.
