BEAVER CREEK, Colorado ” You hear them in your car, in the elevator, in shops and in the grocery store. Why not make this holiday season special by coming to the Vilar Center to hear a full orchestra, complete with soloists, performing your favorite Christmas songs live?

The New Sigmund Romberg Orchestra will perform “A Viennese Christmas” tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek. The ensemble combines a full pops orchestra (complete with lush strings, brass, woodwinds and percussion) and four virtuoso vocal soloists to carry the audience through a winter wonderland. The Herald Standard wrote “The New Sigmund Romberg Orchestra performed in grand fashion … with rich Viennese flavor … a program rich with good, traditional Christmas music.”

This holiday show is renowned for its combination of traditional Christmas music and Viennese music. The program will include renditions of such holiday favorites as “Little Drummer Boy,” “Babes in Toyland,” and “Sleigh Ride” complemented by “Die Fledermaus: Overture” and “Vienna Bob-Bons.”

This orchestra has been a perennial favorite from coast to coast since it began touring in 1994, receiving rave reviews along the way. Conductor Dr. Jason Altieri, who has guest conducted operas all over Europe and the Far East, leads the New Sigmund Romberg Orchestra and is also the associate conductor of the Atlanta Pops Orchestra.

The evening concludes with a complimentary post-show holiday reception at the Vilar Center. With drinks, hors d’oeuvres and plenty of holiday cheer, this evening is sure to get you in the spirit of the season.
