Traffic will be stopped in Glenwood Canyon

GLENWOOD CANYON ” Both lanes of eastbound Interstate 70 traffic will be stopped for up to one hour starting at midnight while new electronic signs are installed.

Crew may also need to stop traffic between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. or for an hour after midnight on Tuesday.

Crews are installed two of four new electronic message signs just west of the Hanging Lake Tunnel.

The eastbound left lane is closed on from mile marker 124 to 125.9 (from just west of the tunnel through to the east side.

Crews will be working Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., but the lane will be closed 24 hours a day until the project is finished late next month.

The speed limit in the work zone has been reduced to 40 mph.
