Travel plan open house Dec. 18 in Minturn

EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado ” The National Forest will have an open house for the newly released Forest Travel Management Plan on Dec. 18 at the Holy Cross Ranger Station in Minturn, Colorado.
The White River National Forest recently released a draft of the plan. The draft closes some roads, changes some roads to motorized ATV trails and prohibits motorized vehicles from some trails. It also adds about 280 miles of routes to the forest.
There will be a 60-day comment period ending Jan. 6. The document is available on line at http://www.fs.fed.us/r2/whiteriver/projects/travel_management.-Instructions for commenting on the plan, along with an interactive map, are available at the site.
The purpose of the open house is to answer specific questions about roads or trails. District staff will be on hand from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Participants will be able to look at maps, and information about how to submit comments will be presented. –
