Tree removal planned on Avon trail

Daily staff report
Vail, CO Colorado

AVON, Colorado -Avon’s public works department will remove damaged and diseased trees along Avon’s section of the Eagle Valley Trail Thursday and Friday.-

The trail will be closed between Arrowhead and West Beaver Creek Boulevard. Signs will direct pedestrians and bicyclists to Highway 6. Officials expect the path to be closed for one day.

The tree removal is necessary to protect public safety, Avon officials say. Already this summer, several trees have been removed in Avon because they were either blown down or had been damaged enough to require removal.

Brush Creek Landscaping will do the work and the town will also have a safety officer on hand to assist the public with questions. For more information, contact Avon Public Works at 970-748-4100.
