Tuesdays heat up summer
VAIL -The Vail Valley Foundation has finalized the 2005 Hot Summer Nights free concert series lineup, which begins June 14 at the Ford Amphitheater.
Hot Summer Nights, which celebrates its 19th anniversary this summer, is scheduled for every Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. from June 14 through July 26. Doors to the Ford Amphitheater will open at 5:30 p.m. for each show.
country star and Capitol recording artist Dierks Bentley brings his special brand of country music to the Ford Amphitheater stage to kick off the series. That initial pace will not miss a beat in the subsequent weeks of June as Louisiana rockers the Subdudes hit town June 21, while the jazzy rhythm and blues sounds of Henry Butler on June 28 will round out the Hot Summer Nights performances for the month.
July will pick up where June left off with the R&B offerings of Eric Lindell July 5 and the soulful pop sounds of Samantha July 12. The ReBirth Brass Band will once again set their sights on the Vail Valley on July 19, with hopefully better results, as the New Orleans brass funk band’s Street Beat date this past winter was short circuited due to airline mechanical problems.Hot Summer Nights season will come to a rollicking end as local favorites The Young Dubliners bring their energized Celtic rock stylings to the Ford Amphitheater, fresh on the heels of the release of their latest CD, “Real World.”
“Budweiser Hot Summer Nights has truly developed into an entertainment staple for the Vail Valley,” Ceil Folz, president of the Vail Valley Foundation, said. “There’s no place better than the Ford Amphitheater to see a show in the summer and Hot Summer Nights is an integral part of everyone’s social schedule.” Hot Summer Nights is a project of the Vail Valley Foundation.
