TV may have fallen on, killed Gypsum boy

Steve Lynn
Vail, CO Colorado

GYPSUM ” A 6-year-old boy died after a television may have fallen on him Saturday night, said Sgt. Greg Daly of the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office.

The boy, whose name is being withheld, was taken to Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs where he later was pronounced dead, Daly said.

Daly declined to elaborate on details of the accident because the Sheriff’s Office is still investigating, but he said that a family member called 911 after the accident.

“There’s nothing criminal involved,” he said. “It’s just a very tragic accident.”

He said that sheriff’s deputies who dealt with the accident were upset.

“It was very hard to deal with the death of a young child,” he said.

The Eagle County Coroner’s Office will investigate the cause of the boy’s death, Daly said.
