Two dead in Front Range dune buggy crash

AULT, Colorado ” Two men are dead after the dune buggy they were riding in flipped over west of Ault.

The Weld County Sheriff’s Department says 36-year-old Lester Oliver Jr. died Tuesday evening at the scene of the crash, near County Road 23 and Colo. 14.

Authorities say 45-year-old Mike Brand lived on the property where the accident occurred. He was flown to North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, where he died.

Weld County Undersheriff Margie Martinez says Brand owned the dune buggy, and was also the driver at the time of the crash.

Martinez says Brand and Oliver were in the dune buggy when it made a sharp turn and rolled over about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The vehicle rolled onto one of the men.
