AVON ” Police made 25 arrests during the concert and fireworks show and afterward in Avon, police Chief Brian Kozak said.

Twenty of those arrests came after the concert and fireworks show, Kozak said.

“It was probably the busiest post-fireworks night that Avon (Police Department) has had,” he said.

Normally, two officers work at night, but six Avon police worked overtime and three police officers from other departments came to help, Kozak said.

The focus on the festivities prevented officers from enforcing drinking and driving laws ” Avon police made no arrests July 3, Kozak said.

Thirty-three crimes were allegedly committed, including domestic violence, resisting arrest, minors in possession of alcohol, possession of marijuana and disorderly conduct.

The concert and fireworks show went well, Kozak said. Three minors were ticketed for possession of alcohol and two women were ticketed for a fight, he said.

Police estimate 15,000 people attended the concert and fireworks show, Kozak said.
