Two men die in Edwards garage
EDWARDS ” Two men were found dead in a parked car in Edwards Sunday night, possibly the victims of carbon monoxide poisoning. Their names have not yet been released by authorities.
The two Hispanic men were discovered dead and frozen in a car parked in a garage at Lake Creek Village Apartments, Eagle County Sheriff’s Office Detective Mike McWilliam said.
The men had not been seen since Friday afternoon.
“There was some alcohol in the vehicle,” McWilliam said. “It’s possible they were running the vehicle inside the closed garage and they got carbon monoxide poisoning.”
McWilliam said the bodies were transported to Grand Junction Monday for a forensic autopsy to determine the cause of death.
“We won’t know for a couple of days,” McWilliam said. “They were frozen, so they need to thaw out.”
McWilliam said the apparent driver of the vehicle has been identified, and that he was a resident of Lake Creek Village. He said if anyone knows the identity of the other man, they can call Crimestoppers anonymously at 328-7007.
