Two-wheeled terror

It’s springtime, friends, and that means it’s time to look out for folks getting around on two wheels. The bicyclists are out in force, of course, from kids on their Wal-Mart “Slumber Party” specials to the tight-pants-and-water-bottles set huffing their way up, then zipping their way down, Battle Mountain. Watch out for ’em.Watch out, too, for motorized two-wheelers, also known as motorcycles. One of the Titans brought his motorcycle to work for the first time this season the other day, and nearly got taken out on I-70 near Gypsum by a dimwit in a green VW Jetta. The point, though, is that two-wheelers aren’t cars, and it sometimes requires more than a passing glance during a cell phone conversation to spot them. And, when a two-wheeler goes down, at 10 mph or 75, it’s gonna hurt. A lot.Two-wheel pilots need to act as if every car on the road is rolling death, and four-wheel drivers need to prove the two-wheelers wrong. Please, let’s be careful out there.Thank youThe Family of Jennie Rivera would like to thank everyone for their support and kindness during this time of sadness: Father Hugh of St. Patrick’s Parish, Bailey Funeral Home, Antonio Ortega and all the wonderful people who worked hard to make the service and reception beautiful. Your kindness blessed everyone who attended. Thank you again, The Rivera Family. ….
