Udall wants research for safer oil, gas drilling
DENVER – Democratic Sen. Mark Udall is headed to a Denver gas station to promote his plan to make oil and gas drilling safer.
Udall says he will introduce a bill to expand research on safer drilling techniques for future drilling.
Udall also says he’ll talk about clean energy. The senator has called for a cap on carbon emissions and more funding for clean energy sources. Udall says the nation should follow Colorado’s example and require a certain percentage of power to come from renewable sources.
The Senate is likely to consider sweeping energy legislation this summer.
