Union Peak Festival returns to Copper Mountain this weekend
Summit Daily
Labor Day may be the unofficial end to summer, but Copper Mountain Resort is still soaking in dog days of summer as it prepares to host the Union Peak Festival from Sept. 8-10.
Billed as the largest event of the season at Copper, Union Peak Festival celebrates the convergence of community, sport and art with three days of free live music performances, sports clinics/demos, art activations and more.
This year’s music headliners for the free event include Spoon, Fitz and the Tantrums, and Quinn XCII.
Festivalgoers can also explore art installations and wander through vendor booths in the village featuring handmade creations. Mountain sports devotees are invited to partake in sports demonstrations and outdoor meetups, including golf skills clinics at Copper Creek Golf Course, morning yoga on the mountain, guided group mountain bike rides and fly-fishing casting clinics.
The weekend will also include the Summit Up 9K/5K Trail Run, which is happening Saturday morning. Runners will cross the on-mountain finish line and celebrate at the 10 Barrel Backcountry Brew Pub with refreshing brews, brats and tunes.
