Vacancy committee meets again Wednesday in Basalt

BASALT — The next meeting in the selection procedure for a county commissioner from Eagle County District 2 will be Wednesday in Basalt. The candidate interview process by the vacancy committee will continue at the Basalt Middle School at 6:30 p.m. (map for the school location is at http://www.eagledems.org).

The committee will also tour Basalt and the Eagle County part of the Roaring Fork Valley on Wednesday at 5:15 p.m. Committee members have arranged a bus tour so the commissioner candidates can learn about the Roaring Fork Valley. A bus will leave the Basalt Middle School parking lot at 5:15 p.m.

The Basalt Town Council and staff, Pitkin County Commissioners and Open Space and Trails Department have been invited to join the vacancy committee and the commissioner candidates on the bus. Members of the public can also join the group, space permitting. This tour will not be part of the official meeting. Dialogue and questions to the candidates will not be part of the agenda. If the bus fills up, have dinner in Basalt and return at 6:30 p.m. to the Basalt Middle School, when the committee interviews the candidates in an official meeting. If you have questions specifically about the bus tour, call Kim Wille at 970-704-9535.

All meeting minutes and all candidate applications are available at http://www.eagle dems.org. Click on the “vacancy committee” tab.
