VAIL, Colorado – Vail artist Jim Cotter and owner of J. Cotter Gallery is participating in the invitational exhibition “ALLEZ! DU GALET” today through Dec. 12 in southern France. Other American exhibiting artists are Joanna Gollberg, Kest Schwartzman and Thomasin Durgin.
Each artist was invited to join “ALLEZ! DU GALET” by curator Marianne Gassier. The invitational exhibition “ALLEZ! DU GALET” is displaying different wearable art forms that have been made from pebbles or rocks, all of the participating artists were invited to send jewelry that incorporates pebbles or rocks. All of Cotter’s artwork featured in the exhibition was created from found stones and pebbles. Cotter’s Stone Wear series has been displayed in numerous countries and Cotter continues to be recognized for his innovative techniques using alternative materials.
J. Cotter Gallery was established in 1970 in Vail and continues to bring contemporary jewelry and art to the Vail Valley. J. Cotter Gallery can be visited in Vail on Wall Street and in Beaver Creek Village on Market Square.
