Vail Arts Festival on tap in Lionshead

VAIL, Colorado ” More than 95 artists will converge in Lionshead this weekend for the 24th year of the Vail Arts Festival.

“Whether you are a collector of original art or simply appreciate how a piece is created, you are sure to enjoy browsing the festival,” event promoter Laurie Asmussen said.

Featuring displays of watercolors, oil and acrylic paintings, woodworking, glass, sculptures, furniture, mosaics, ceramics, metalworks, photography and jewelry, this festival offers a wide array of art pieces. T



he Vail Arts Festival will run through the weekend on E. Lionshead Circle Friday from noon to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

On Friday evening the festival combines with the Lionshead Family Friday Afternoon Club and the Vail Mountain Friday Afternoon Club at Adventure Ridge to create a family outing.

Visitors can stroll through displays of art while the kids run through a 60-foot inflatable obstacle course or take in a Children’s Theater production.

On Sunday evening, Vail Valley local Tony Gulizia will play on the Vail Chophouse deck from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
