Vail Automotive Classic registration is open

EAGLE, Colorado – The 2012 Vail Automotive Classic is gearing up to be the biggest and best yet.- Its goal is to feature over 250 cars, airplanes and motorcycles for the Wheels and Wings Show on Sept. 8. This year’s show celebrates the “great American hot rod.”
Registrants may enter by completing the auto online registration form at http://www.vailautoshow.com/Registration or the aircraft online registration form at http://www.vailautoshow.com/aircraft-online-registration, or by printing it and mailing or faxing to the organizers. The show schedule includes a barbecue and car auction Friday night at the Vail Valley Jet Center, Wheels and Wings show Saturday at the Vail Valley Jet Center, Saturday night cocktails and concert at Beaver Creek and the Vail Automotive Classic Show in Vail Village Sunday including People’s Choice Award.
Participants may register their vehicles in the following classes:
• American Pre-War Classics to 1941.
• American Post-War Classics 1941-1961.
• European Pre-War Classic to 1941.
• European Post-War Classic 1941-1961.
• Muscle Cars 1962-1973.
• Replica Cars.
• Great American Hot Rod/Street Rod Pre-1948.
• Great American Hot Rod/Street Rod 1948-1973.
• European sport: 1961-1973, 1974-1987, 1988-Present.
• Mustang 1963-1973, 1974-Present.
• Best Ford.
• Best Corvette.
• Best Mopar.
• Corvette: 1953-1962, 1963-1973, 1974-present.
• Custom Transports.
• Harley Davidsons to 1972.
• Harley Davidsons 1973-Present.
• Vintage Motorcycles Pre-1972.
• Sport Motorcycles.
• Custom Motorcycles.
Early registration runs through Sept. 5. Vehicle fees are $50 for the first vehicle and $15 for each additional vehicle. Cars and motorcycles may also register the day of the Wheels and Wings show at the Vail Valley Jet Center on Sept. 8 at the event for a fee of $40.
Registrants should make checks payable to Vail Valley Concours LLC. Online payment for registration is encouraged.
New for 2012 is the first annual Vail Automotive Classic Car Auction taking place Sept. 7 in Hangar 1 at the Vail Valley Jet Center.
The car auction will feature approximately 12 cars being sold at both reserve and non-reserve prices. Our special feature of the evening is a non-reserve 1995 Jaguar which has been donated specifically to benefit one of our nonprofit recipients – Jack’s Place at the Shaw Regional Cancer Center.-
Each of the cars up for auction are being hand selected from various car collectors and automobile enthusiasts. The following early entries have been committed:
• 1978 Porsche.
• 1955 Chevy pick-up.
• 1969 Dodge Charger.
This year, current registrants include a Bugatti Veyron which retails at over $2 million. Additionally, airplanes include a T-6, a Pitts aircraft, a Kitfox, and a Sea Fury.-
