Vail, Beaver Creek lifts will open at 8:30 starting Saturday morning
Vail Mountain and Beaver Creek Resort announced that starting Saturday, skiers and snowboarders can start uploading at 8:30 a.m., a 30-minute addition to the daily operating hours.
Skiers and snowboarders must wear a mask when on the mountain, with face coverings following CDC guidelines. People are also asked to maintain 6 feet of distance and to stay home if they are sick.
Also this year, the new reservations system by Vail Resorts is up and running.
Recent snow has helped both Vail and Beaver Creek mountains open more terrain, and prepare to open even more ahead of the Christmas holiday.
At Vail, the resort has reported 22 inches in the past seven days, as of Friday morning, and a 29-inch base. Sorry, there was no 13-inch powder day, like some reports said.
Vail Mountain has nearly 20 lifts turning and over 100 trails available.
At Beaver Creek, the resort has reported 25 inches in the past seven days, as of Friday morning, and a 22-inch base. Beaver Creek has about 45% of its terrain open, with about 70 trails and 18 lifts.
Getting to Beaver Creek
Driving to Beaver Creek? Consider parking in the Bear Lot and taking the Beaver Creek Landing express shuttle for quick access to the Landing and Lower Beaver Creek Mountain Express. At the end of the day, skiers and snowboarders can spend more time on snow and less time on the bus by taking Leav the Beav to the Landing, where the Elk and Bear lots are a short walk/shuttle away.
Beaver Creek also has a new drop-off site on Avondale Lane, now one-way to make for easy drop-off and pick-up.
