Vail benefits from All the Love
The Vail Chamber & Business Association held its monthly membership meeting Thursday. Among the different business representatives and members of the media, there was very good discussion on several topics about improvements to Vail. From town ambiance to off-season promotions, the dialog was aimed at increasing the year round success of Vail. Because Vail is more than just a winter destination, many business owners feel its important to be proactive in creating promotions for the off-season sooner than later. On a local level, businesses that serve visitors can adjust the way they do business based on the amount of visitors the town has. It is a given that at certain points throughout the year, the number of visitors to Vail slows down. The three weeks following Thanksgiving is a good example of that. Its important for the companies whose goals are bringing the visitors to Vail to know the trends of the slow times this town has. Its important to recognize that there are still things to do here, and by creating promotions for those slow times in advance we can improve the amount of destination visitors we have. The Vail All the Love program was designed to maximize the amount of Front Range and national visitors to Vail. Without degrading the brand of Vail, the program offered promotions for businesses throughout Vail. The town of Vail and Vail Resorts did a great job in teaming up in an effort to help this winter season. It was incredibly helpful to those businesses that did not have the ability to run a promotion of that size on their own. Optimizing programs like these in the future will increase the amount of foot traffic that businesses receive. The Vail Chamber is hosting a special meeting to coordinate events for next season Feb. 18th at La Tour Restaurant. It will start at 9 a.m. We ask you to come and participate in our discussion. If you have any questions or would like to contact me or any of the other board members, we can be reached at the Vail Chamber & Business Association, 970-477-0075 or on line at http://www.vailchamber.org.Bill Suarez is the owner of Billys Island Grill and a member of the Vail Chamber & Business Association Board of Directors.
