The Landmark Condominiums in Lionshead has announced a major exterior renovation and new development. The buildings owners association will work with The Alter Group, a Chicago-based development company, to re-clad the existing tower, build a new lobby, elevator tower and underground parking, and add 15 new for-sale units: The Landmark Residences. This project started as a renovation and turned into a major development that will make The Landmark a landmark in Vail, owner and board member Bill Pendleton said. It wasnt difficult to gain the almost complete support of the owners because they recognize the value of the location of their property and realize that they are reinvesting into the property. There was a very strong degree of excitement about the finished product. The Landmarks retail and commercial space will be part of the exterior renovation. Construction is expected to start this spring. When Arrabelle is complete, our deck will have one of the better vantage points, looking straight down on the new center of Lionshead, said Bill Suarez, managing partner of Billys Island Grill. The expansion plans and The Landmarks prime location have made the new units an easy sell. Of the 15 units for sale, 12 have been pre-sold at an average price of more than $3 million. For more information, call Michelle Kobelan of The Alter Group, 888-814-6564, ext. 4.
