Vail Bravo!: From Salzburg to St. Petersburg

VAIL – Clarinetists rejoice! The Philadelphia Orchestra performs Festive Classics with world-renowned clarinetist Ricardo Morales, 6 p.m. tonight at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater. Tonight is the closing night concert for the orchestra.

The evening begins with Samuel Barber’s School for Scandal Overture, filled with personality and energy. Following this piece will be Mozart’s only concerto written for clarinet, with principal clarinetist Morales as the soloist. Mozart was one of the first composers to include the clarinet in standard orchestral configuration of his symphonic works.

The evening concludes with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4, which meanders its way through all emotions and ends with jubilation.



Tickets are $85 for premium reserved seating, $63 for regular reserved seating, and $23 for general admission lawn seating. Children 12 and under receive free lawn admission.

Leading The Philadelphia Orchestra will be internationally acclaimed and festival favorite, Rossen Milanov.
