Vail businesses can participate in big Denver ski show

Joyce Gedelman-Viers and Amanda KubbyVail, CO, Colorado

The annual Colorado Ski and Snowboard Expo will be happening again this fall, taking place Nov. 7 Nov. 9 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. A special thanks to the town of Vail for their sponsorship of the event as it will allow the Vail Chamber & Business Association to participate all three days representing Vail merchants. Vail Resorts will also be in attendance and has provided support services to the chamber in preparation for the event. The Colorado Ski Museum will participate once again, giving Vail a tremendous amount of exposure.Merchants in town who would like to provide information about their businesses can drop their information off at the Vail Chamber & Business Association office in the top floor of the Village Transportation Center or call us at 970-477-0075 to make other arrangements. In years past many businesses also offered promotional items, small gifts, and other incentives that could be shared with attendees at the event. Although no one knows for sure what the season will hold, we should prepare as best as we can. We need to be proactive, flexible, and creative when thinking about promoting our business. What this means for our merchants is that we should take advantage of every opportunity to provide more exposure for our businesses and get creative with incentives and programs for guests to visit us while they are in town. The Denver event will be attended by people from all over Colorado as well as many of the surrounding states. There will also be guests visiting from all over the United States as well as some international visitors. And, of course, there will be a strong contingent from the Front Range. This is your chance as a Vail merchant, business owner, or service provider to get your name out there and to be promoted during the best-attended Colorado ski event before the 2008-2009 season. If you would like ideas on what others are doing or have questions about the event, please call us at 970-477-0075 or email us at info@vailchamber.org. We look forward to representing you next week, and want to thank you in advance for the opportunity to serve you in the future. Joyce Gedelman-Viers is the assistant director and Amanda Kubby is the member and event coordinator at the Vail Chamber & Business Association.
